Thanks to the good people at Phormium IT Solutions I was also able to keep an eye on water levels via their Uck webcam (showing the Roller Mill). Also special thanks to Wendy Tagg who provided me with a comprehensive round up of things she had noticed relating to flooding and surface water, and also posts by local people in the catchment. I would very much like to hear where, and how high water levels were where you are in the catchment and any photos you might have taken.
Fingers crossed ground water levels drop before we get any further heavy rain. I've had reports of lots of new springs popping up all over the catchment - a sure sign that the ground water is higher than we have seen for some time. On the plus side the high water levels have provided us with a great deal of information about how water travels through the catchment, and this will help us to identify where we could make changes to improve things in the future.
